Batman:Arkham Asylum
First off i want to go ahead and say this is the best batman game i've ever played. Considering 90% of them were pieces of shit, it's not that hard to imagine. Now let's get into the reasons why you should and should not buy this game game.

Should: Detective mode (Psh everythings blue) most of the game will be spent with detective mode on, either looking for riddles following the main story line trails or simply to see through walls (good for planning your strategy in battle)
Great combat system i love the hand to hand fighting in this game, Batman should be able to take on 10 guys and come out with not even a scratch on him. The "freeflow" system is what i imagine it's called, has batman able to punch one guy in the face quickly trip the next guy and then deliver a stunning uppercut to a third all of this done with the X button no annoying combo buttons to learn and if anywhere in between these three guys he gets attacked by a stray you simply press Y before they hit you to counter and you can continue your combo. The higher your freeflow combo gets the stronger your attacks will be, eventually you'll literally be flying across the room smacking bad guys left and right. Even if you aren't a huge brawling fan this game has another great fighting aspect and that's the stealth fights. Batman is all about taking out foes quietly and in this game you're able to glide down from statues to silently take down a guard without alerting his friends or tying them from the ceiling to scare another guard. Eventually once you're down to one or two guards using detective mode you can monitor their heart rates, usually at this point they are TERRIFIED you can also tell by the fact that they are extremely jumpy some will even start shooting randomly or yell at nothing. This can be fun because you can jump down and scare the living day lights out of them.

The story itself is simply but honestly great, Joker takes over Arkham Asylum after just having been captured by Batman and as Batman you have to stop him. You'll fight a collection of Batman's old foes ( Harley Quinn, Mr. Zasz Killer Croc) as the story progresses you can see how the day is starting to take a toll on Batman. The riddler has set up annoying riddles/challenges across the entire island that you'll spend hunting for during the story or after if you choose. I loved this game. I give it a 9/10.

Should not: The story is a little short if you have the time to play it. I spent maybe 3-4 hours a day and i rented it when it first came out which was last week sometime? But i'm still hunting for all the riddles nor did i beat it in hard mode. No multiplayer, once the story is done and you've got all the riddles that's pretty much it unless you enjoy doing the challenges.

Most of the boss battles are pretty lame/easy. In fact one boss in paticular is just a carbon copy of the minions that come later.

Some of the gadgets are under-used. They had a great idea for remote gel bombs but i found it too much of a hassle to plant the gel when i could just throw batarangs to knock down a guard.

I'm only a little disappointed in this game, it feels like it should have been darker but was geared in a way so parents wouldnt have a bitch fit if their kids played it. I dunno i loved the game and i hope they make another Batman game soon!

They're releasing two challenge maps as download on the 17th for free, then another pack on the 24th.
The games released on PC in the next few days too, wouldn't be surprised if they release a sequel since it's sold loads.

Not sure if i'd like that or not. They'll probably have to do some sort of overworld i guess though since doubt they'll set it in Arkham Asylum.
